Greenville Youth Garden Project Receives national grant

Picture
Congratulations! You have been selected to receive the $500 Doo Good grant, sponsored by Warner Bros. We are very excited to support you in implementing your two service projects.

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang teamed up with Points of Light to inspire, equip and mobilize kids and their families to DOO GOOD in their communities on the environment, animal welfare and hunger issues! The DOO GOOD campaign is providing $500 start-up grants to new Kids Care Clubs in the United States and complete two service projects.

Young Women of Promise recently received the above notification.  The project, "Planting Seeds of Promise" will teach youth about the issue of hunger and how it impacts our community and ways to make a difference in their community.  They will plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, herbs and flowers.

YWOP will use the grant funding to develop a youth gardening project in partnership with Temple of Zion International Ministries and Ray of Hope CDC in Greenville, North Carolina.

The Planting Seeds of Promise project will also include an intergenerational spaghetti dinner to include youth and adults and senior citizens in the community in June 2018.

Please check back later as we begin to launch this exciting initiative for our kids in Greenville, NC!!!
